Lake Ridge RV Resort
Lake Ridge RV Resort is situated off of I-77 in Hillsville, a small town and the county seat to Carroll County in southern Virginia. Perched among the verdant rolling hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the resort and campground have a mix of RV sites, cabins, and four tent camping sites with a central lake. Amenities are numerous and include a playground, a mini golf course, two swimming pools and a splash pad, pedal boats, catch and release fishing, laundry, a general store serving free coffee, a dog park, an outdoor theater, walking paths and hiking trails, corn hole, shuffle ball, basketball, ga ga ball, and horseshoe.
Accommodations
Lake Ridge RV Resort has accommodations suited to different types of needs. Of the 125 RV sites, 85 are full hookups offering 30 or 50 amp, and the additional 40 are water and electric only sites with 20 or 30 amp, respectively. The resort offers 18 cabins of varying offerings and sizes (some of which are pet friendly) and four tent campsites. On-site dumpsters, a propane filling station, and a general store add to the convenience for campers. All sites have fire pits with starter and wood available for purchase at the general store. Golf carts are also available to rent.
Note that WiFi and cell phone reception can be spotty so plan on going without or bring your own WiFi extender or portable hotspot for the duration of your stay.
The 2024 daily minimum rates are posted on the resort’s website and require a two-night stay, however nightly rates are sometimes available. Call the reservations office to inquire.
Cabins vary in size and accommodations. Most feature a queen-sized bed, some with bunk beds or a sleeper sofa or futon, and all have air conditioning units, heaters, refrigerators, and microwave. Some cabins have full bathrooms, while others will require the use of the communal restrooms and showers.
Logistics
Lake Ridge RV Resort is located approximately 3.5 miles off of I-77 at the Hillsville Exit 14. There are several turns to get to the resort and a bit of a climb in elevation. Use caution when driving to the resort, especially at night.
If your travels take you elsewhere, the resort is nearby the New River Trail State Park and just over an hour from Roanoke.
