RV upholstery requires special care. After all, it sees lots of activity! At RVbyLIFE®, we’ve been making high-quality RV cleaning, RV repair, RV maintenance, and RV restoration products right here in the U.S.A. since 2011, and our sister company has been manufacturing premium boat cleaning and restoration products since 1959, so we know a thing or two about cleaners.
You may have read our recent blog on what to spring clean on your RV or camper or what to stock up on in our Stock Up on Spring Cleaning Essentials, but since there are so many different types of RV cleaners and RV waxes and polishes to choose from, it is important to select the correct product for the job. When it comes to keeping your RV upholstery clean, knowing what products to use is essential. Read on to find out how to clean RV upholstery.
Start with a Clean Surface
Before you use a cleaner on your RV upholstery, you have to ensure that it is free of any crumbs of food, debris, or free-standing liquids. Use a soft cloth to gently wipe away any remnants of yesterday’s food, or that cookie that you ate earlier. For liquids, be sure to soak them up with a paper towel immediately by gently covering the area with the towel and allowing it to absorb the water. Do not rub as that might cause the liquid to seep into the crevices of your upholstery, which could lead to mold and mildew damage down the line.
Use VinyLIFE Vinyl Cleaner & Protectant
Once your upholstery is dirt, liquid and debris-free and dry, use our VinyLIFE® Vinyl Cleaner & Protectant to remove tough dirt, grime, and grease stains and leave your upholstery protected from harmful UV rays. This high-performance cleaner is solvent- and abrasive-free. It has a dual purpose, and that is to clean while it also protects. Great for use indoors and outdoors on any upholstery or vinyl seating, awnings, or other rubber products. If you notice any mildew lingering around, our Mildew Remover is a spray and wipe solution that is chlorine- and acid-free, and safe to use on fabrics. Simply spray the mildew, wipe it down, and the specialized formula will eradicate mildew on the spot.
